![]() Try to verify your game files through steam, this can help also. If the game is installed on a HDD have you defragged it recently ? if not run the defrag, thie game is newely installed and could of just exposed some drive clutter and inconsistant performance. Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Run DDU- Display driver uninstaller and reinstall video drivers - Works for Nvidia and AMD and removes everything driver related, on the Nvidia note the newest driver has caused FPS drops in a bunch of gamess, I went back to 368.81 on my EVGA 970 SSC and it works great. Adaptive and optimal power modes with my testing seem's to have very inconsistant performance Power mode set to max performance in Nvidia control panel if on AMD they should have an equlivant setting, do this in windows power options as well. \Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock 2 Remastered\ContentBaked\pc\SoundsWindows. Wow thats odd, how are your CPU and GPU temps when performance is starting to take a dump ? it could be throttling from temps possibly ? If you havent cleaned your PC out in a while a good cleaning might be needed. I would normally say I’d have hopes this is will get fixed but the original game never did so yeah… oh well, it was a freebie after all so not too disappointed. It’s to the point now theres no joy in playing the game, it’s become a constant freezing mess for me. Annoyingly it doesn't seem like the remasters are as open to tweaking so I guess we just have to wait and hope there's some good patches.Originally posted by Takashiwolf:Actually a quick update here the more I play the game the worst the performance is getting. I really hope they can fix this, the atmosphere was kinda ruined in the opening swimming pool area without hearing the lovely echo of the music reverberating through the empty halls. ![]() The original did have some heavy reverb in parts but it felt right there, here I think you're correct in saying it's way too much (whenever it IS working). It feels like there's something wrong with the reverb volumes placed in the levels as well, since entering a different room after reverb is enabled makes it disappear again. Bioshocck 1&2 are poor mans Sytem Shock 2, then. Bioshock is to the Shock games what Deadly Shadows is to the Thief games. >It's just a linear generic shooter So are Bioshock and Bioshock 2, they are a poor mans System Shock 2 dumbed down for console. Presumably it's trying to enable a different sound mix state so that UI sounds don't have reverb applied. If I were you I would get Dishonored DLC + Bioshock 2 Remastered DLC. Actually it seems like going in and out of ANY menu toggles reverb on or off. Every single time I use a vending machine this happens, it's like that just toggles it on. Originally posted by Aquarius:Regarding reverb, I load my game and nothing, but sometimes after I use a vending machine the effect is cranked to max and its awful. Will try and find one of the old fixes back when this was a relatively new problem with some WWise-powered games and report back, but if anyone finds a specific cause/fix, I'd be very appreciative if you'd share. Running the audio chipset with Windows generic drivers (hdaudio.sys), will try and update to Realtek's crappy ones, but expect nothing to change. Gigabyte P67A-UD3P-B3 (has a Realtek ALC889 chipset) For anybody out there actively trying to fix this, my specs are: Plenty of people run games on onboard audio chips and statistically speaking, most of them are from Realtek. Enabled/disabled reverb, have yet to dive into INI's but to be quite honest, I really shouldn't have to. I'm running a 2.1 speaker setup on a Realtek onboard soundchip, checked multiple speaker setups in the game to see if one would "take" but none seem to work (not even mono). ![]() Turning Delta so the source of the audio is directly to my sides or back changes the volume somewhat, sometimes for the better, usually for the worse. A splicer's regular speaking voice from across an enormous hallway sounds as if he's screaming into my ear, but once he runs up next to me and fires his weapon a soft, almost unhearable and disappointing "pop" comes out. The stereo mix is a total disaster on my setup. Guess the old bugs return with the remaster.
